If someone comes knocking on the door needing food, or a place to stay for the night, most people down here will gladly help.

Hospital Pass 

A pass usually in a contact sport such as football, lacrosse and hockey, that usually leaves the receiver of the pass injured because they were trying to receive the pass and while concentrating on the pass got the shit knocked out of them. This often occurs in football when the quarter back throws a lob and the receiver is concentrated on catching the ball and the safety comes and hits him very hard. Also occurs in lacrosse and hockey. Most hospital passes are justified as a legitimate attempt to win the game, while some are for that one person on the team you really hate and hope they get injured trying to receive this pass. Common injuries resulting from hospital passes are Conclusion and loss consciousness, broken ribs, and bruises.

Lakin Hospital 

The Lakin Hospital is located on Route 62, just a few minutes out of town from Point Pleasant, WV. It was built circa 1924, and was used as an insane asylum, a school, and a home for colored boys. It was closed down in 1956, but I believe it was used as office space until about 1970. It is now a delapidated ruin, sitting in the middle of an open field. It is said that many horrible things went on inside of these walls, ie. lobotomies and such. It is said that the black boys housed here were abused in every way imaginable. This place is one of the most well-known haunted places in the area, and many of the locals and even out of towners visit it on a regular basis. It is a spooky building in the daytime, but at night it is down right scary. Voices and cold spots are common place in stories from those who dare to venture inside. The Mothman, another local legend, is said to have been sighted nearby in the TNT area of Point Pleasant, but that's another story. All in all, this is one spooky part of West Virginia.
