rhythmic sloshing

The noise you hear when a couple in an apartment near you is having sex in a large tub.
First I heard the water run and fill the tub followed by the couple laughing and splashing around together. Later, all I heard was moaning and rhythmic sloshing.

rhythm method

A supposedly-effective/reliable means of avoiding pregnancy, this technique practically guarantees that you will "crank 'em out like an assembly line" on an even and regular basis!
Jim Bob Skullduggary and his wife practiced the rhythm method when they first started out to raise a family, and you see where THAT got them!

battle rhythm

Military speak for the daily/weekly meetings, briefs, and products that must be delivered/attended.

Very popular among those O-5 and above. It makes them feel more tactical in the rigmarole to which they subject themselves and their subordinates. Also very popular in staff work, but is still making its way down to smaller units.

Most of the heavy lifting that maintains the "battle rhythm" is accomplished by junior officers who begrudgingly make it happen.

A true sign of bloated bureaucracy that would hopefully be discarded in the event of a war for survival, not interests.
CO: "I like this PowerPoint slide you created depicting the current baby duck force laydown, we should add that to our battle rhythm. I want to see it every Wednesday by 1600."
LT: "Aye sir."

Rhythmismist

Slang "Ismist," also see Rhythmismer

1. Subspecies of the NYC club life including individuals who self-identify their social, musical and venue orientation though membership to Rhythmism and association with other Ismists, as well as those whose regular participation on Rhythmism or attendance at Ismist events causes others to identify them as primarily connected to the nightlife scene through this particular web portal.

2. Anyone who begins an introduction with “My name is X on the board” or inquires as to other’s “screennames” when out at a drinking or dancing establishment.
Those Rhythmismists are such elitist snobs! Just because Hector plays at their private parties, they think they own this place.

The line for the bathroom at ismist events tends to be extremely slow.
