Chopfest

Chopfest is essentially when a jazz musician uses their solo only as a means to display technique rather than actual soulful improvisation. A common example would be a trumpet player overusing high notes in their solo.

Cat 1: Bro wasn’t that solo fire?!
Cat 2: I don’t know man sounded more like Chopfest to me.
