Chicken Bit

A control bit stored in a register, used in ASICs and other integrated circuits to disable or enable features within a chip .

This is done for debugging and troubleshooting.

We couldn't figure out the issue with branch prediction , so we flipped a chicken bit and disabled it altogether

Used in the first episode of BBC's Sherlock, Sherlock says, after asking why a woman would STILL be upset by the death of her daughter, "Not good?". John Watson responds, "A bit not good, yeah."
Later, it became a fanfiction tag, usually on Archive of Our Own, depicting a character in a not very good mental state

earning a good bit of bunce

It's cockney (i.e. from London) rhyming slang for earning money. Bunce is derived from bunsen burner (a common piece of school laboratory equipment that produces a single open gas flame and named after Robert Bunsen) and this rhymes with earner.

It was tough work but I was earning a good bit of bunce .

two-bit whore

Two-bit is from early american times when money was sperated in "bits" equal to about 12.5 cents a piece, a common price for alot of items was two-bits, or 25 cents. Thus, an old-fashoined way of identifiyng someone as a 25-cent whore.

A guy walks in and sits down at a bar. The side of his face is bruised and bleeding so the bartender asks, "What in the world happened to you, buddy?".

The guy says, "Oh, I got in a fight with my girlfriend and I called her a two-bit whore." "Yeah?" asks the bartender. "What did she do?"

"She hit me with her bag of quarters!"
