Metaphor for: "Get ready cause some crazy shit's about to go down!" or "Get ready for a wild ride!" or what you say before the shit hits the fan.

History: Derives from old cowboy rodeo phrase, as a reminder when riding on a wild bull or bucking bronco.

Pop Culture: A favorite phrase of Caitlyn Jenner on South Park, which is then usually followed by someone getting accidentally killed by her.

Guy at bar asks Caitlyn Jenner: "It should be an interesting election this year huh?"

Caitlyn sips her drink and fiendishly replies: "Buckle up buckaroos."

Buckle buck

A guy who dresses up like a cowboy when going to the rodeo and tries to hook up with winning bronc and bull riders. They typically wear Keith Urban straw cowboy hats, Brad Paisley button up shirts, fresh out of the box pointed toe cowboy boots and skinny jeans. Typically they are freshly shaven.

I went to the rodeo with my buddy Murph and he was acting like a Buckle Buck all night. I had no idea he went broke back until then.

buckle down

A slogan meant to convey 'Get to work!' or to say 'Quit lollygagging and get back to work!.
For example: Last week the section Boss walked through the office and caught one person surfing the net at their workstation instead of working and he therefore jumped to the conclusion that all the office workers must be doing it all the time. Ergo he gave a threat to the team boss's and then doled out the "Buckle down!" speech, which in turn was reiterated upon the employees.

<Smith> Lets go for a break!
<Mackenzie> I can't, our section just got the "Buckle down" speech, I have to finish this file and some P2P's.
<Smith> Oh the "Buckle down" speech?, we got that too, and we pulled 10 hours of overtime each last week alone!
<Mackenzie> Yeah I know! The Boss can lick the sack butter from my hairy pair.
