Wangan

1. "Bayshore" or "Bayside" in Japanese.
2. The name of the highway or route B in Tokyo, Japan used by a street racing club called MidNight Club in the 1990s as an illegal expressway racing course to use top speed challenges and street races. Located in the intersection of Route K11, K9 and K5 of the Shuto-Expressway.

The manga/anime Wangan Midnight is based on the Shuto-Expressways showing the races between Akio Asakura and Tatsuya Shima racing on the Bayshore route.

Games such as Shutokou Battle (Tokyo Xtreme Racer in the US) and Wangan Midnight including the arcade versions are also based on the Shuto-Expressway. The player can battle opponents on the Wangan in the SP battle or point to point races.

Wallace: Did you see the Akuma Zetto at the Wangan last night?
Me: No, what about it?
Wallace: The driver is fast. I bet you can't beat him with your IS350.
Me: Oh yeah? Just watch me and I'll prove that I'm the fastest in the Kanjou line.
Wallace: Your car won't do any good in the Wangan anyways, and yet, his car is lighter than yours.

wang ba dan

Chinese for a egg (son) of a turtle; similar to SOB but with a slightly longer history. Origins vary, but the most popular theory is that comes from wang ba duan (忘八端), which means forgetting filial piety, 'brotherly respect', loyalty, trustworthiness, politeness, justice, honesty and shame. (Being ashamed means you know you did something wrong. Calling someone shameless can be highly offensive.) Incidentally, apart from turtle, wang ba also means someone who wears a green hat.

Though if you're looking for a Chinese translation of SOB, there are better equivalents.

A: Ni zhe (you) hunzhang (shameless) wuchi (shameless) beibi (low) xialiu (seedy) si zazhong (damned mongrel dog) gei wo gun dan (take a hike)!

B: Bi zui (shut up)! Ni zhe ge bu yao lian de (shameless) wang ba dan zhen bu shi dongxi (lower than things)!

Wangdong

a slow and/or sluggish moving shopping cart; these are left by smart shoppers at your neighborhood grocery store because they are blessed with faulty wheels or their axles arent properly lubed; Wangdongs cause anger because when pushing a wangdong you must exert non-equal forces with your arms in order to push the cart along smoothly, thus making one arm tired while your wangdong skids along the floor of each isle.

Yolanda: Hey, look at that guys wangdong, its totally draggin.
Frodo: I once had a Wangdong like that, except i exchanged it before it sent me into a vortex of spiraling fury.
