Get the hartless mug.An expression indicating extreme luck. Used most often in golf. The expression indicates that the intended recipient of the comment has more luck (often called Jam) than Hartley's, which is the second largest Jam making firm in the world and is most commonly found in Great Britain, America and Western Europe. Haute means "high" in French. It is pronounced "hote", NOT "hot". It is used most commonly with the word "Couture" (pronounced catore) which means "fashion" in French. Thus, Haute Couture means High Fashion.
It does not, however, mean hawt, hot, sexy, whatever. People who use haute in place of those words are idiots who seriously need to read the REAL dictionary instead of urbandictionary.com.

Get the Haute mug.French term refering to the extravagant and often absurd and impractically unrealistic fashion pieces that designers create to demonstrate their unique style and inventiveness.
Proper pronunciation can be tricky; haute is somewhere between ought and oat, pronounced quickly so that the o is highly unrounded ("oh", if held long enough, ends up sounding like a /oo/). couture is pronounced ko'tur with a highly unrounded 'o', a 'u' that sounds almost like a german umlaut, and an 'r' made in a way similar to gargling.
Alternatively, you could pronounce it in a very American fashion as 'ought kuh-ter'.
