D-E Pistol

The D-E Pistol is a gun that you can find in zombie survival game, Project Zomboid. Now any person who has played literally ANY FPS game can instantly tell that this gun is a Desert Eagle (Deagle for short, and specifically .44 Magnum version, not .50 AE.) It is a BEAST of a pistol, dealing the most damage out of any handgun (Tied with the Magnum pistol, definition coming soon :D ) and having the second highest stopping power out of any gun. (Once again, tied with the M625 revolver. That definition is ALSO coming soon :D ) For those of you who don't know what stopping power is, neither do I. (Ok, I just looked it up....apparently its "the ability to incapacitate a target"? Too hard to understand.) Ok, aside from that, the D-E pistol has some downsides. It has one of the largest detection radiuses in the game, being 70 tiles. Yikes. Not only that, this gun uses Magnum ammo which is pretty rare. Good luck finding it, because its rare. (For reference I have a few hundred hours on the game, found it like 3 times on several different saves.) And the mags for it are even rarer than the gun itself. But if you do get enough ammo and mags, you've got a hell of a reliable secondary.

A sidearm-sized device that projects a low-to-medium power laser pulse designed to ignite the target's clothing, atmosphere, or fuel reserves rather than penetrate. It's a less-lethal (but still horrifying) weapon of intimidation and area denial. On a dry, oxygen-rich world, it's a flamethrower in a handgun package. In daily use, it's a dangerously over-engineered cigar lighter for mob bosses who want to make a point.

Example: "The smuggler didn't draw a blaster; he pulled a laser igniter pistol. One snap shot at the fuel line of my speeder, and I was suddenly deciding between surrendering his package or becoming the centerpiece of a very sudden, very personal barbecue. It wasn't about killing me; it was about making my immediate environment lethally committed to his negotiation strategy."

Plasma Igniter Pistol

A sidearm that fires short-range bolts of magnetically shaped plasma. On impact, it causes catastrophic thermal and hydrodynamic shock—melting, exploding, and setting the target on fire almost simultaneously. It's a brutally effective close-quarters weapon with a distinctive CRACK-HISSS sound and the lingering smell of ozone and cooked meat. Holstering one is a statement that you intend to leave behind sculptures of slag and ash.

Example: "His plasma igniter pistol didn't leave bullets; it left modern art. A hit to a security drone didn't disable it; the plasma bolt splashed across its chassis, fusing circuits, boiling its battery into an explosion, and leaving a beautiful, glassy crater of molten alloy in the wall behind it. Clean-up was a nightmare."

Particle Beam Igniter Pistol

A hand-held weapon of pure, comic-book-level overkill. It would fire a micro-pulse of accelerated particles, delivering a dose of radiation and heat so intense it would flash-boil flesh and ignite the very air around the target. The recoil from ejecting mass at near-light speed would likely shatter the user's arm, and the power source would be a small reactor. It's the pistol you design when you've decided physics is more of a suggestion.

Example: "The schematics for the particle beam igniter pistol were confiscated. The reason? The 'back-blast' of neutralizing ions would give everyone in the room a lethal dose of radiation, and the target wouldn't be shot—they'd be turned into a brief, expanding cloud of radioactive plasma. It was less a firearm and more a single-use, directional suicide bomb with a trigger."
