In some multiplayer games everyone starts off with a negative bounty (the amount in points you are worth). By collecting power ups your bounty increases. The intention is to deter levelled up players from attacking very weak players as doing so will remove points from their score.

1. to be negged - to be killed while worth negative points.
2. to be called a neg or negger - to kill players worth negative points.
