When someone takes a picture of themselves looking ugly or funny and sends it to their friends to get them to laugh. People who do this are not trying to look good and usually don't. The typical selfie face involves a peace sign and duck lips.

noun and verb: A photograph taken with a camera phone or to take a photograph with a camera phone. Just how the word 'literally' was literally misused so much that its meaning was officially changed to include the formerly incorrect definition, so the word selfie has a history of misuse so that it can now also refer to a photo taken with a camera. The person who took the photo can call it a selfie because they themselves took the photo.
