A private school is a type of school that people seem to think is only inhabited by rich, white, preppy, blonde, snobby boys and girls.
Well, it's not.
-There are children that go to private schools that get there from working for it and getting scholarships.
-There are children that go to private schools that have creative talents such as acting, painting, writing, etc.
-There are children in private schools that have gone through the exact same life experiences as children in public school.
-There are children in private schools that don't think they're better then everything, and in fact they think the complete opposite.
-There are children in private schools that have intense family problems.
-There are children in private schools that know how to speak intelligently without saying the word 'like' in between every other word.
-There are children in private schools who still have there natural hair color.
-There are children in private schools that don't enough money to buy high-end clothing because their parents spend all the extra money, that isn't for necessary things like food, on the school's tuition.
-There are children in private schools that are Black, Asian, White, Hispanic, Native-American, Indian, and any other race/ethnicity you can think of.
-There are children in private schools that know who there are and don't need to look like everyone else to feel good about themselves.

Private schools are really not very different from public schools.
I'm not saying that there aren't preppy, bitchy girls or self-centered guys at private schools but it's the same at public schools. Don't base an opinion about any private school from what you see in the movies or from one or two snobby and cocky girls/boys that you have met.

Get the old school mug.The real Loyola is like a drama filled reality show. Another day, another drama. In a school with 200 kids everyone has secrets yet everyone thinks they know everything about each other. Besides all the drama the school is great and we really have a good time. Yeah, a lot of people smoke cigs and do drugs but that's their decision and just because they do it doesn't mean you have to do it too. The school is awesome because it doesn't have a rep like other schools in the city do. Most of the kids that go here will claim on a daily basis "i hate loyola" when in truth they go home and they realize they love it because they can be who they want to be at loyola. What the other person said about the stereotypes at loyola, it's funny because the school is so small everyone kind of owns their own little stereotype. there's such a small number of people that they all kind of do their own thing. in addition, what the other person said about loyola ruining the freshman... so not true. the freshman did it to themselves by throwing a party in a teachers house... hello? that's really dumb. Loyola is a great school and it's a beautiful building with great classrooms. Yeah there are a lot of preppy stuck up white kids there but what do you expect with a tuition like they have? enjoy it. you're going to high school with future CEOs. basically, Loyola is the shit.
Loyola Student 1: Let's totally go rage tonight after we do our homework
Loyola Student 2: Yeah that will be awesome I just need to finish my AP Calc homework
Loyola Student 1: isn't it awesome how we can be smart and rage at the same time?
Loyola Student 2: yeah, i just totally love loyola school
prep school awesome cigs

Get the Loyola School mug.A frequently-stereotyped educational institution that often features a more diverse population than most people believe. Contrary to popular belief, not all boarding school students are snotty, preppy airheads and jocks. Not all are sent there as preparation for becoming trophy wives or CEOs. Boarding schools are not as weird and sheltered as they are portrayed to be (especially not for day students) and they do have significant value other than "getting the kids out of the way".
Many parents send children to boarding schools for high school because they feel this will better prepare them for college life. Others live in areas with poor public schooling systems and elect to send their children elsewhere, so they can have a better education. It may come as a shock to some that many boarding school students come from extremely rural areas or from so-called "bad neighborhoods" and are there on scholarship.
Living at a boarding school often puts kids in contact with people they would never meet otherwise, as students often come from all over the world. Interacting with people from different places and backgrounds generally broadens the students' minds and horizons. Dorm life requires that they learn to live with other people and to effectively resolve problems with roommates and neighbors.
It is recommended that one actually visit or attend a boarding school (as with a public or other private school) before passing judgement.
