Adaptability Phase

A large life change that happens as the result of a social falling out. It usually happens during adolescence, where a person may need to think about the person there are in an effort to make themselves more socially adaptable. They may be extremely quiet or socially awkward while they are still learning, as they may need to relearn large amounts of social skills, as well as may be deeply engrossed in thought and not focused on the world around them. Many people that experience this phase believe that they are the only person on Earth that have experienced it, although, in reality, a lot of people will experience it.

Guy 1: What is Willie doing over there by himself? Didn’t he have a lot of friends last year?

Guy 2: He did, but he fell out with them and is out of friends right now. I’m sure he’s just going through an adaptability phase. He’ll have more friends soon.

zoom pause

The silence that occurs on a zoom meeting when someone asks a question, and the online delay makes the responder stop for anywhere between 2-10 seconds before answering.

Creates great awkward tension because the asker doesn’t know if the other person didn’t hear the question or just doesn’t want to answer.

Teacher: Danny, what is 2 + 5?
...
......
..........
Teacher: Danny did y—
Danny: SEVEN
Everyone else: Laughing silently because of the Zoom Pause

Soap opera pause

The ridiculous pause for dramatic affect after some ground breaking event happens during a soap opera. Most of the time it turns out to be nothing special, just a way to cut to the next storyline. This becomes increasingly annoying when people in the real world are using it. Like when they tell a story, especially when they are a bad storyteller.

" Oh boy. Mary has trapped another victim. She's telling that stupid story where the guy runs into her and she drops her milkshake. "

" I know! I've must have heard it 10 times already this week!"

"Yeah, but the worst part is the soap opera pause she always throws in when she reaches the part about the lid falling off right before her slipping. Like we are supposed to gasp in amazement. As if anything else could have happened and we should be surprised it went down that way. ARGH!"

The momentary doorstep halt while you check you have your keys, before pulling the front door shut.

"Why's that guy stood there like a statue with his front door still open?"
"Dude, he's probably having his front door pause."

The Ya'll Phase

The Ya'll Phase - an experience in which an individual from Midwest or other regions of the United States (i.e. West, Southwest, Northeast), moves to Southern state and starts to use the indicative form of "you all" in their daily vocabulary

The Ya'll Phase can happen at any time and is applicable to many different situations. Here are some examples:
"What's the plan ya'll?"

"Where ya'll going for dinner?"
"YA'LL CRAZY!!!"

Opium Boulder phase 1

a HUGE boulder made of opium that is planning to be blown up by bad boy daniels. Once it explodes, everyone will die except for people with the name Stanley. So in conclusion, its a plan to have all of the Stanley's take over and rule the earth.
