Chef Hat

A person with inferior skill. The origin is from the online game Conquer Club. The game uses a military ranking system, the lowest being a chef. The symbol is a chef's hat. The phrase has spread to everyday usage in describing unskilled people.

Aaron: I was talking with this chef hat client today who was asking for the standard deviation of a single data point.

Travis: Wow, that's pretty dumb.

The daily "special" at a chinese restaurant, made by adding three scallions and a mushroom to any other sauce in the restaurant.

Don't order the chef's special sauce. It's the same as General Tso's, but probably with something extra - like celery, or botchelism.

Chef's Kiss

The small droplets of oil that appear in and around the edge of a meal. This is a result of the oil separating from the other ingredients whilst remaining to enhance the dish with it's infused flavour. This is most prominent in moist dishes such as a curry or a bolognese.

noun; Moniker given to culinary geniuses who are good with their hands. Usually reserved for handsome men with a sparkling smile, who can turn on the heat in the kitchen and pretty much anywhere else.
