Bringing up Laura Branigan

A term used when a person is so sick they are throwing up what they consumed in the 80's.

Although names of other pop stars of the era may be used to define the amount of effort involved in emesis it is worth noting that there is some debate as to whether "Bringing up Pat Benatar" implies as deep a retching as "Bringing up Laura Branigan".

"Bringing up Rick Astley" is only ever used by people who didn't actually live through the 80's and who spend their days on YouTube.

Medical note: Known to cause Boerhaave's syndrome (effort rupture of the esophagus).

Bring sandwich to the beat

Phrase used in northern England by grime and trap artists/fans, meaning 'to spit tight bars over a backing track in a punchy way'. The phrase evolved because 'sandwiched' is a synonym for the word 'tight', which is used as a compliment in grime and rap circles when appraising a song or performance. Can also start with variant words 'bringing' and 'brings' depending on usage and context.

Burning Lamb

A nod to the famous Burning Man festival in Nevada, Burning Lamb refers to an massive annual lamb roast held on Saturna Island in BC. Saturna is one of the southern Gulf islands, and this huge BBQ brings many tourists and locals to celebrate Canada's national holiday on the July 1st long weekend. Dozens of local lamb are traditionally roasted outdoors around an open fire. Local food and meat roasting at its best!

I was so full after Burning Lamb I had to pass out on the grass starfish-style.
