Matilda

Australian slang term meaning a "swag" (i.e., a pack of personal belongings). Originates from the Aussie folk song "Waltzing Matilda" in which the hobo ("swagman") refers to his precious swag as Matilda. Thus "waltzing matilda" literally means "walking across the outback".

An automotive transmission that uses a torque converter instead of a clutch. It is driven only by guys with one leg or people who don't know how to drive. These are mostly old granny ladies and sissies.
