When an individual of the male sex proceeds to explain something/ some situation to a woman that she most likely knew already and most certainly did not ask for such an explanation. May be condescending but not always.

Female: My psychology class is very interesting this year, I learned about Sigmu-

Male: You know actually Sigmund Freud had many many children isn't that something? He was well known for blah blah blah blah

Female: Did not ask for a ,mansplaining session but go off
