Basically, an individual will only be friends with people who are the same political identity and beliefs as them. The same holds true often times when they are deciding whether or not to date a particular person. This approach often causes the people who use to have a very strong political favoritism towards a specific political party and or political ideology. In some cases, they develop a strong intolerance for other political ideologies and parties, which sometimes can lead to unnecessary violence towards other individuals and societal groups who they perceive as having a different political ideology then their own.
