Athenian Fallacy

The Athenian Fallacy is a logical fallacy wherein someone takes a positive opinion of something due to one or few highly positive traits, despite those positives being far outweighed by numerous negative traits of a lesser degree. Takes its name from the not-so-democratic democracy of ancient Athens.

Steve: "Wow Athens was a democracy, how great! I mean all the people could vote except women, slaves, freed slaves, foreigners living there, children, men who haven't done military service so like 90% of the population; but still wasn't ancient democracy just so amazing!

The Clintonian Fallacy

The Clintonian Fallacy, so called because of former President Clinton's infamous line, "It depends upon what the meaning of the word 'is' is", is when someone you are debating tries to derail an argument by squabbling over the well known, and traditionally accepted, definitions and meanings of words and or ideas.

You: Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another.
SJW: No!!! Racism is...White patriarchy!!!...Even when you are not being racist you are being racist!!! Even when you don't know it!!! Your very existence is racist!!!! You, by NOT judging someone by the color of their skin is also an act of racism, and absolute proof of white privilege!!!!

Bakern't's Fallacy

The Bakern't's Fallacy is a common fallacy where someone tries to assign the same quality to some Cause as to the necessary Result of said Cause when, and only when, said Cause is the only exception to said Result; in other words, when, and only when, said Result is the Result of no Cause also.

Formally: (0=bad->(0->(x->0)->x=bad), where x != 0

Someone: if you hoard all the bread, then we will not have bread!
