brand slut

Consumers who flit from one brand to the next with no sense of fidelity to any of them.
The 18 to 34 crowd, apparently, are disloyal brand sluts. They hop and whore around the place, trying this new beer or that new car or body sprays and tooth whiteners: they can be bought, in other words. And that makes them desirable.

Brand Geek

Someone who is obsessed with brands on clothing, ranging from top designer brands to unknown designers. They will look at a tag and go, "Oh..of course you should like it..it's a shirt from LMBD!".
Most of the times, they don't even know that whatever's on the tag isn't a top designer, and assume that every tag inside a clothing that says a company is a major designer. They go twice as crazy if they see the tag lists an actual top known designer company like Juicy Couture or Ralph Lauren or something and go triple crazy if it's on sale. An example of a brand geek is my mom, probably what several moms are.
Mom: Hey this top is nice..
Me: Uh..it's all ruffled with pink flowers and it looks like something only grandma would wear.
Mom: Look! It's from BRTC Fashyuns!
Me: Who are they?
Mom: Big designers of course.

later..
Mom: Hey look..a nice jacket!
Me: Mom, it's pale pink. Doesn't really go with my tone and not one of my favorite colors..plus it's like three sizes larger, and it has these weird polka dots and little cat buttons.
Mom: I know! So pretty huh! Especially the little cat buttons..Ooh look it's from OSA"
Me: Um..who?
Mom: A really good company..
Me: *in head: mom you're a brand geek. no offence.*

Brand Tuning

When a company, product or brand is enhanced/ tuned to a particular market or segment.

It leverages existing marketing, PR and brand assets, and is not a re-launch or re-branding.

This especially comes into play when a brand is tarnished by bad service, PR, ill-conceived advertising and needs to be counteracted by tuning.
The new commercial for XYZCars requires Brand Tuning - the image with the car speeding through the suburbs with young passengers promotes irresponsible driving.

Brand-jack

Occurs when a person purchases an article of clothing of a certain brand whilst knowing that a friend of theirs is dedicated to buying clothing from that brand.

Conditions:
- Said friend must be considered a good/best friend
- Said friend must own a minimum of 10 articles of clothing from said brand
- Said brand must own a hefty majority over other brands in the friend's closet
- Brand-jacking does not apply to jeans, hats, shoes and accessories

Exception:
- Said friend says it's cool. In which he/she then approves of the article of clothing from said brand that you wish to buy
- Someone else buys it for you, not knowing of your best friend and his/her dedication for this brand. This must then result in an apology to said friend
"Hey man, check out this new shirt I'm looking at getting"
"Dude.. you can't get that"
"Why?"
"I have like 15 shirts from that brand, you just can't Brand-jack me like that"
"I apologize bro, I will find another brand"
"Thank you"
