an amazing TV show that involves mathematician Charlie Eppes who uses his knowledge to help his brother, Don Eppes, solve complex crimes for the FBI.

while some people may think that using math is lame and it could never happen, you'd be surprised to know that this show is pretty bad-ass and awesome.

it airs on CBS every friday at 10pm
"have you seen the latest episode of NUMB3RS yet?"
"no! omg what happened?"
"charlie used his wicked math skills to catch a serial killer, again."

strength in numbers

An idiomatic expression to mean an emotional and morale strength drawn from a group of people.

Sometimes this can lead to mob mentality.
John is a coward by himself, but in a large group he draws strength in numbers.

Numberwang

The rules are fairly simple but the process for finding NumberWang is nearly impossible. The process for finding NumberWang used to take hours and hours to find because the formula was an entire 1400 page text book. Now, finding NumberWang is simple. You say a number that you think is NumberWang and the NumberWang Robot, Coloson, will answer for you. However during the early 1960's apearance of Coloson on TV, Coloson decided to take over the world and said "I am NumberWang, The world is NumberWang, therefore I am the world!" The makers of Coloson, who forsaw this event, installed a fail-safe. The only way to stop Coloson was to show it a picture of a chicken. Now Coloson is kept in the basement of the BBC TV Center. NumberWang is now a world phenomonon. It is on Austrailian TV, New Zealand TV and even American TV where instead of saying "Thats NumberWang!!" they say "Yes, That is a number..."

naughty numbers

A game called "naughty numbers" in which you spread a deck of cards on the floor, (remove the kings and queens.) Flip all the cards face down. Now, someone picks up a card, and someone else has to dare them to do something the number of times inidicated on the card chosen. (Usually sexual.)
Examples of dares in naughty numbers:
1. Mosh whilst naked # times!
2. Flash people # times.
3. Shed # peices of clothing.
4. Etc. :)

wrong-numbered

When you give someone a false number so that you don't actually have to speak to them again. Normally after you've met with someone new, and being the polite person that you are, don't want to say no to exchanging numbers. That way they think you are a nice guy, plus you don't have to explain to them why you don't like them. If the cover is blown, the person who got wrong-numbered can be blamed for not taking down the number correctly.
Guy1: "I called the number this chick gave me last night, but it was some random old guy..."

Guy2: "Dude!!! you got totally wrong-numbered!!"

Roman Numeral

Roman numerals are numerals that replace the normal Arabic numerals. They use letters such as
I, V, X, L, C, D, and M. Each letter has a value and cannot be repeated more than 3 times. A bar over a roman numeral means it has been multiplied 1000 times so you don't have to write numbers that are like 20 numerals long.
