orphan porn

A movie or tv show that features an orphan or person with an unstable or absent family finding a loving chosen family or parent. Orphan porn is schmaltzy, almost over the top with strong shows of emotional support, people working out their feelings and past traumas, and general warm fuzzies. Orphans may or may not be the central figures. Examples include The Fosters and This Is Us.
That show is so cheesy and wholesome, it's total orphan porn.

Give it to the orphans.

Phrase letting convenience store clerks know that you don't want to wait the 8 seconds for your change and that they should instead just drop it into the charity bucket after you leave.
Tom: "Just the one 40 of Old English please."
Clerk: "That'll be $2.50."
Tom: *gives $3
Tom: "Give it to the orphans."
Tom: *walks out.
