A person who claims to be a mad scientist, but is actually better at inventing things. Usually derogatory in the scientific community.
Have you heard of Dr. Insano, the famous mad scientist?

Nah, he's not a mad scientist, just a disgruntled engineer. He doesn't even use proper testing methods!

human engineering problem

a case where the real challenge is to modify or control human behavior rather than design a technological solution. Sometimes used sarcastically (by techies) to imply that a problem is not due to technological deficiencies, but to the fact that humans are so poorly designed.
We know how to produce enough food to feed the world. Eliminating hunger is primarily a human engineering problem.

english barbecue

The English BBQ normally takes place in wet or threatening weather condition. He, the man of the house, shows his family how to light the BBQ using several pints of high octane fuel. He then cooks chicken drumsticks that are black on the outside and still bleeding in the middle. Sausages are also black on the outside while being raw in the middle.
