The Reichstag was the capital of the German Parliament during WWII. A dutch communist was in the building that night, and was executed for the crime. Although many thought the Germans themselves did it, to the contrary, it was the dutchman. However, it was beneficial to the new Nazi government under Chancellor Hitler in permanent postponement of democracy. This event is comparable to 9/11, it provoked fear, exacerbated by the government, which is slowly resulting in the halt of democracy and the establishment of a dictatorship.

Reichstag is to Adolf Hitler as September 11th is to George W. Bush.

Taken from the Reichstag (see Wiki) fire in Germany before World War II which blamed the Polish for burning a German parliament building, however it was a 'false flag' (again, see wiki) operation, covert and conducted by ones own government to be blamed on one or more foreigners to drum up support to declare war against supposed foreign perpetrator(s).

Fourth Reich

The current (2018) alternative name for the European Union (EU). A political term of abuse.
The origins for the EU started after WW2, with the European Coal and Steel Community, which ultimately morphed into the European Union via "the Common Market" and the "European Economic Community (EEC)".
The term Fourth Reich was used in an article in the British Daily Telegraph in 2016 by Political Commentator Simon Heffer. See below. It was also used in an article in the German publication Der Spiegel, in March 2015 to indicate the growing domination of Germany within Europe, without the need for further military conquest.
