the french revolution

To define it in short, was a civil revolution that broke out in France in 1789.
Essentially France was growing tired of the king centralizing his power...(taking it away from the nobles and giving it to himself) and being in a confortable financial position that did not require the co-governing of the french state the Estates General. Because of this, only the King himself had any ruling power over France. The Nobles, were tired of having no power and being shat on by the king, and wanted to regain power lost over the years. Educated people were tired of being classified in the "rest of France" group, the Third Estate. At this point, the peasantsa didn't really want to get involved and make their situation worse than it already was.
After Luis XVI managed to spend all of France's future revinue by starting yet another war on Britain, getting people to loan money for the war, the king finally had to turn to the Estates General for support. The Estates General decided to hear everyone in France's complaints, yet since their were 3 estates, and 95% of the population were in the third estate, the voting system existed in such a way that the first and second Estates (Clergy and Nobles) could easily outvote the Third. Consequently the angered Third Estate grew by people from the others joining the force, and took a vow not to cease their demands even after the King threatoned to dismiss the Estates General with lethal force.

Finally the third estate renamed themselves to the National Assembly, and voted all the Nobles provileges to be cancelled and called upon a set of governing laws inspired by the Declaration of Independence. (France loved America at the time for beating the British) It was called the Declaration of Rites of Man and of the Citizen and long story short only benefitted the rich people.

people were mad and radicals continued the revolution and there was much blood and killing.

The End.

Another kickass song by Nirvana, this one off their last album In Utero. Is a great example of Kurt Cobain's lyrical genius at work. It was inspired by Francis Farmer, an actor of the 30s and 40s who underwent many hardships.
Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle--

It's so relieving, to know that you're leaving, as soon as you get paid
It's so relaxing, to hear that you're asking, wherever you get your way
It's so soothing, to know that you'll sue me, this is starting to sound the same

I miss the comfort in being sad

In her false witness, we hope you're still with us, to see if they float or drown
Our favorite patient, a display of patience, disease-covered Puget Sound
She'll come back as fire, to burn all the liars, and leave a blanket of ash on the ground

I miss the comfort in being sad

Francesco

Francesco, more commonly referred to as "Fran", are inexplicably perfect people. As most Francescos originate from Italy, one might even describe them as being 'perfetto'. Sure, having a Fran for a friend is cool, but having a Fran for a best friend and a boyfriend is the coolest thing that will ever happen to you. Living far away from your Fran is near impossible, yet the sheer pleasure of being reunited with their flawless selves makes it all worth it. It can be hard to tell a Fran how much you love them, not because you're worried about what they'll say, but simply because there are no words to describe the extent of your love to them. However this is ok as they feel the same way, and will therefore understand. If you're someone lucky enough to have a soulmate named Francesco, don't muck it up. Always cuddle them and let them know how truly special and appreciated they are. Being the devilishly handsome, astonishingly intelligent and unfathomably funny people that they are, Frans can make you as happy as the kitty in the following gif for all eternity...
"Aw man. How can someone be THAT perfect!?"
"What can I say... he's a Francesco!"

Pardon my French

The origin of this phrase (Which means excuse my use of profanity) does not originate for the French word for seal, as Lazy Time Waster suggests.

It in fact originates from the constant warfare between England and France many years ago, at that time "French" was associated with indecent things and activies (Swearing, kissing etc).
This was done fairly often in those days, sexually transmitted diseases (for one thing) had different names in different countries.

What the English might call the French disease, the Dutch might call the Spanish disease, the French might call the English disease and so on.

Francestown

A jolly little town also known as ftown in the middle of no where, where everyone assumes the rainbow ends.Full of cayotes, major corn chunkage, cow farms, home schooled losers, and retarted uncles. Wouldnt be a strange land to find yourself dreaming about bunnys & llamas. People who live in this town go to pumpkin launching festivals, believe their cats will be hit by reindeer. And have late night cookito runs, in the middle of the forest. Dont be shocked if you see homosapiens/teenagers singing " francestown where the streets are black. you better watch it, you better watch your back" Where fennis was invented. Takes a gillion years to light a ffing sparkler. Little children keep themselves occupied by streaking, skinny dipping, visiting the "general", and shitting in local lakes.
Last year in francestown, we jumped over the fence of a hairy cow farm, where we procided to tell the owner we were only "thinking about it in our mind", even though she was across the street watching us the entire time. We own.
