Thanksgiving Day Parade

Daytime has always been a good enough time for a parade for most people of generation after generation from cities all over countries that celebrate Thanksgiving, yet some people don't feel like they have enough complete control over events, and try to push it to the night time in some areas (the same people that push people with extended mandates and restrictions that force longtime and loved businesses to close so they can purchase the land for cheap and redevelop it into something they see more dollar signs in).

Somebody must think that all the people that held their Thanksgiving Day parade during the day before them were old school idiots that didn't know how to have a good time, even though people always loved the daytime parades and didn't really want their hearts or minds changed for them.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Annual Thanksgiving tradition that has taken place in the Big Apple for nearly 100 years. Giant balloons, tons of marching bands, clowns, floats, fun stuff :) Event is annually televised on NBC.

Toledo, Ohio had a huge Pride month Celebration parade . The HIV pride marchers descended like a horde of locusts on the all Toledo pharmacies for all the of Toledo's HIV drugs. The local Toledo fruitloops got sick due to the lack of HIV drugs.

A series of last-ditch efforts or dramatic actions taken by a company, especially one facing potential failure, in a bid to quickly revive its fortunes. Characterized by a flurry of product announcements, ambitious projects, or strategic shifts, all launched in quick succession, in the hope that at least one will capture the market's or investors' attention and save the company from downfall.

The act of deploying multiple, often disparate, strategies or initiatives simultaneously, akin to throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks, under circumstances where failure seems imminent. This approach is marked by a blend of desperation and spectacle, aiming to generate buzz and rekindle interest in a sinking enterprise.

Theory of Paradigm Selection

The study of the messy, often non-rational process by which one paradigm wins over its rivals. Kuhn argued this isn't a simple logic puzzle; it involves persuasion, generational change, aesthetic preference ("elegance"), problem-solving promise, and the death of old-guard professors. Truth doesn't automatically win; the winning paradigm defines what counts as truth for the next era.

Theory of Paradigm Selection Example: Plate tectonics didn't win the paradigm war in geology just because it had better data. It won through paradigm selection: young geographers were dazzled by its elegant maps, it solved puzzles across sub-fields (seismology, paleontology), and, crucially, its elderly opponents in the "fixed continent" paradigm eventually retired. The social process of science selected the new reality.
