I couldn't see if I knew the guy that got shot, there were too many gapers.

Generation X

The kind of label Gen Xers are supposed to reject.

Some folks who grew up during the eighties, survived, surprisingly, even Wham!, and who at least initially weren't quite as thrilled at the prospect of becoming wage slaves and didn't dream quite as much of a life in the 'burbs as they had been expected to.

In reality nothing close to a majority of a whole generation or even age cohort ever had any resemblance to the stereotype. Wham! still sold a lot of records. Then came underwear with ostentatiously displayed brand name, and heroin chic in tow, so pervading a trend it's not necessary to mention the name of the brand and effects of the anorexic plague are still with us. So much for “generation”, “market savvy”, “anti-consumerist” and "anti-materialistic" at least as far as a whole generation is concerned.

Oh man, that Generation X rubbish again...

General Marty

A General Marty is when you take two cigarettes (be it joints, pipes, cigars, smokes, weed, sheesha pipes - anything) between the fingers of your right hand and take a puff from BOTH at the SAME TIME.

I saw DJ Bux pull a double General Marty with a joint and a cigar in each hand! It was unbeatable!

generation gape

(v.) -- to gaze stupidly or in open-mouthed surprise or wonder at someone from another generation for doing or saying something completely surprising or incomprehensible due to the generation gap.

"Whenever I say something old-fashioned to my teenage sons, they just look at me in a totally befuddled way and then generation gape at me in wide-eyed wonder. 'Oh Dad, please!' is what they are thinking, I'm sure!"
