a new year's dish from the Netherlands. they're balls of dough. typically containing raisins that are fried in oil. and served with powdered sugar. they're eaten at new year's eve. and prepared the day before.

families often make a whole lot and eat them for the next weeks. typically during tea time.

i ate some oily balls in Amsterdam, they where delicious.
