Collaborator

An ordinary person who is recruited as a patsy/useful idiot to harass a Targeted Individual in a gangstalking campaign.

Using well-established manipulation tactics, the higher-level gangstalkers recruit Collaborators to carry out small actions, typically the delivery of conditioned cues and the spreading of rumors. The collaborators are usually not aware of who they are really acting for, and often would not even agree with the true objective of the gangstalking campaign.

The use of numerous Collaborators makes the gangstalking campaign very hard to prove, and even harder to prosecute. The small actions of the Collaborators are shielded with plausible deniability. The Collaborators serve as a layer that separates the higher-level perpetrators and their clients/inducers from the victim.

Under the Zersetzung program in communist East Germany, there would typically be only three Stasi agents assigned to each Targeted Individual. These Stasi agents would amplify the effort by recruiting numerous Collaborators, often people already close to the victim, to carry-out specific harassment tasks. This was very disturbing to the victims, as it created the impression that the whole world was against them.
Tim began experiencing bizarre harassment in the form of numerous people delivering identical repetitive cues. This seemed to be happening wherever he went. This created the chilling impression that he was faced with a large group of some sort, with loyalties and convictions deep enough that they were all willing to participate in criminal harassment on behalf of someone else. What he did not realize at the time was that the people he was encountering were not a unified group, but rather individual Collaborators who were manipulated into carrying out the specific small actions.

Domestic Espionage

A term used by the perpetrators themselves to refer to the practice of Gangstalking / Organized Harassment / Disruption Operation / Stalking by Proxy.

Domestic Espionage is a softer term that carries connotations of legitimacy rather than criminal activity.
Pete started working for a criminal group that operates ostensibly as a private investigation firm. They provide gangstalking services on behalf of wealthy people and larger organizations. He was told to refer to their activities only as “Domestic Espionage”, and not to use incriminating terms such as harassment, stalking, disruption, ... and especially not Zersetzung.

Gangstalking

A popularized umbrella term referring to the practice of covertly destroying a person’s life over a long period of time, with a continuum of disruptive actions.

The term itself is a misnomer, in that the actions are typically carried out by unrelated patsies/collaborators, rather than a unified “gang”. The disruptive actions are not limited to just stalking, but also include slander, noise harassment, career sabotage, relationship sabotage, street theatre, black bag jobs, vandalism, and possibly drugging and electronic harassment.

Over the long term, this practice is often severely detrimental to the targeted individual’s psychological, social, and financial wellbeing.

The perpetrators of Gangstalking typically act on behalf of people or organizations that need to maintain an image that they are not involved in crime.
(1) “Joe hired a private security firm to initiate a Gangstalking campaign against his ex-girlfriend.”

(2) “George suffered from schizophrenia, which caused him to incorrectly believe that he was being subjected to a Gangstalking campaign.”

(3) “Jane works for an organization that engages in Gangstalking. Her job is to create disinformation in online forums to reduce the likelihood that victims of Gangstalking are believed. Her duties are to pose as someone with mental illness making wildly outlandish posts, and to troll people who claim to be targeted individuals.”

COINTELPRO and Zersetzung are two well-documented historical examples of Gangstalking.

Disruption Experience

A broad umbrella term that covers real situations of Gangstalking/ Organized Harassment/ Disruption Operations, as well as incorrect perceptions of harassment due to mental illness. “Disruption Experience” is a deliberately vague term that acknowledges a person’s experience of disruption in their life, when there still exists uncertainty or disagreement as to what the true cause of the problem is.

This allows for a discussion to proceed without having to pre-emptively characterize (or mischaracterize) what the problem is. It avoids rigid binary thinking, and instead allows opposing truths to coexist without needing immediate resolution.
(1) Tina was experiencing a serious problem in her life. She called it gangstalking, while her father called it a delusion. Each took offence at the other’s choice of wording. In order to be able to discuss the matter without it deteriorating into an argument, they agreed to refer to her problem as a “Disruption Experience”. This allowed the conversation to proceed more openly as they gradually worked toward a mutual determination of which of the two cases was truly occurring.

(2) Under a possible co-responder model, the initial contact person (either police or mental health) receiving a complaint about gangstalking would log the complaint as a “Disruption Experience”. This avoids having to make a determination on the spot, before the complaint is properly evaluated/ investigated. This neutral term avoids a possible mischaracterization at the outset, which can be difficult to undo later on. Even if a satisfactory outcome is not achieved, the Disruption Experience complaint would still be on record for possible follow-up, future review, …or even for research purposes, to gain a better understanding of this problem overall.

Streisand Effect

When an attempt to cover something up ends up drawing more attention to it. This is relevant to gangstalking and other types of crime in that a coverup can sometimes be easier to see than the crime itself.

This term originated from Barbara Streisand’s efforts to have her waterfront home removed from a website, used by researchers, that displays images of the California coastline. As a direct result of her efforts, the number of views of her house went from 6 to 420,000 in the following month. Those original 6 views were reportedly all from either herself, her lawyers, or her neighbors.
(1) Paul noticed that many of his files relating to gangstalking were being deleted or corrupted. This created a Streisand Effect, in that because of this, his friends began to pay more attention to what he was saying.

(2) The presence of numerous posts that deny the existence of gangstalking and the trolling of people claiming to be targeted individuals has created a Streisand Effect. The number of people present in gangstalking forums who “don’t believe in” this conspiracy theory seems inordinately high.

(3) A Streisand Effect is created by the numerous wildly outlandish posts that appear to be deliberate disinformation to discredit victims, rather than honest mental illness. These are recognizable by having no mention of the core concepts of gangstalking such as classical conditioning, the use of patsies/collaborators, slander, vandalism, and Zersetzung, and instead try to direct attention toward hard-to-believe fringe concepts such as microchipping, V2K, energy weapons, mind control, and unrelated conspiracy theories.

(4) Nowadays, the disinformation posts are often quickly called-out. The perpetrators likely realized that they were creating a Streisand Effect, and have curtailed this type of activity. Although disagreement still exists, the online discussions about gangstalking appear to be more respectful and civilized than in earlier years.

Disruption Operation

Disruption Operation is a more accurate descriptor for the practice commonly known as Gangstalking. It involves actions taken against a targeted individual by numerous people, using Disruption tactics such as organized harassment via classical conditioning, overt constant surveillance, slander, career sabotage, relationship sabotage, street theatre, vandalism, and possibly electronic harassment. Most of these tactics are illegal, but difficult to prove.

The Disruption Operation is a continuum of actions that destroy a targeted person’s life over the long term.

Unfortunately, Gangstalking has become the popularized term for this practice. The word Gangstalking itself is a misnomer, and some speculate that it was coined by the perpetrators themselves to create misunderstanding about this practice. There appears to be a great deal of disinformation designed to draw attention away from the key concept of Disruption, and instead steer attention toward harder-to-believe aspects such as microchipping, mind control, energy weapons, spirituality, and the co-mingling of other unrelated conspiracy theories.
The general public is mostly unaware that long-term Disruption Operations are a type of crime that even exists. This lack of recognition provides a cover for the crooks to continue Disrupting a targeted individual’s life.

Zersetzung is an example of a type of Disruption Operation. Its literal translation is “Decomposition”, which is chillingly accurate.

Synchronized Noises

In the context of gangstalking, the use of Synchronized Noises is a common tactic used to harass a Targeted Individual. A noise that is deliberately timed to coincide with something else that the targeted person is doing. For example, a thump from directly above whenever the person enters a room; or thumping whenever the person talks about the harassment on the phone. Once the person is sensitized to this pattern, the repetition becomes very noticeable to that individual. Synchronized Noises are a way of targeting noise harassment to a single person when there are several other people around who would hear it. To other people it appears random and they disregard it, but to the Targeted Individual, the noise is not random and is disruptive to them.
Sandy was trying to study at the library when a nearby gangstalker was harassing her using Synchronized Noises. Whenever she turned a page, he would quietly cough. After many repetitions, this subtle action became very disruptive to her ability to concentrate. The noise wasn’t loud, and others around her didn’t seem to notice it. She didn’t say anything because she didn’t want others to think she was unreasonable or even mentally ill.
