Mary Christmas

When Catholics celebrate not only the birth or birthday of Jesus Christ but also worship the Virgin Mary and all the saints, which the Protestants don’t, because believers are only to look up to the Holy Trinity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—and praying to, or interceding through, anyone or anything else is biblically unsupported or erroneous, not to say, idolatrous.
Millions of Christians who don’t subscribe to the Vatican’s theology that believers could also pray to Virgin Mary and the saints have started to wish their Roman Catholic colleagues and friends a “Mary Christmas.”

Pi Awakening

When an oft-semi-innumerate lay public realize that the number π has so much more to offer in terms of mathematical beauty or metamathematics (or mathematical philosophy), which allows them to experience sporadic aha moments, other than what they had boringly learned about the constant in school.
Going by the increasing number of pop math titles on pi published by math educators of different nationalities in different places, it can be arguably posited that there is presently a post-pandemic pi awakening sweeping the planet, much to the delight of both recreational and amateur mathematicians.

Catmas

When a cat owner’s Christmas wish is to be able to frequently cuddle their dear pet on their lap, as they don’t normally love to be picked up and carried or held on someone’s lap; or when an oft-stray cat’s wish list for Santa Claus is to sit on someone’s lap, and be loved and fed more frequently.
Rose’s catmas wish for 2022 is to have her British Shorthair cat willingly on her lap more often so that she’d pet or massage her on her favorite body parts.

Bloody Pi

When a postmodern artist uses their own blood or the blood of animals as paint to draw the irrational number π, or to take part in a pi project as part of a math-and-art exhibition.
An artist from the Philippines told the journalist who interviewed him that his bloody pi paintings, which symbolizes his DNA in art, aren't for sale, but the public could view them at his private gallery.

Pitian

A fan or follower of the number π, who is preoccupied with, or passionate about, her numerical and geometric properties—a pi equivalent of a born-again Christian, whose faith in the mathematical constant is as solid as a house built upon a rock.
Guesstimate the population size of pitians worldwide, who long to experience an aha every now and then, just as Spirit-filled believers who witness those suddenlies, breakthroughs, or miracles in their lives and on those whom they’ve prayed for.

Exoticizing Pi

Elevating the constant π to a transcendental level of mathematical or metamathematical (or philosophical) appreciation, with no regard to practical applications—savoring the Platonic ideal of pi that transcends the five senses.
A number of mathematical purists (or spiritually inclined number theorists) secretly love to exoticizing pi when they let loose of their personal or societal inhibitions—when they desire to be in that so-called state of “pi nirvana.”

Piminence

Short for “Pi Prominence.” Being known on social media for posting anything irreverent, irreligious, humorous, silly, political, or even offensive on the number π, be they pi definitions and haikus, pi art and memes, pi jokes and cartoons, and pi NFTs and tokens.
Prof. Poppy’s piminence didn’t go unnoticed in academic circles, because his postings please the liberals but piss off the conservatives.
