A 2024 action-adventure video game that tasks players with smuggling a package across a dystopian United States. Prior to and following its release, the game became infamous for its blatant political messaging, glorification of bullying and cancel culture and, most notably, receiving government funding. As a result, the game sold incredibly poorly, which the developers blamed on "hate" and "abuse" from gamers. It is cited as a key example of the effects of DEI on video games and possibly a work of government propaganda.
Dustborn never had more than 76 concurrent players. This is what happens when you choose messaging over story and gameplay.
