The slang term made up by Daveed Diggs’ character in the movie, “Blindspotting”. This term was made in reference to another characters use of the term “blindspotting” to refer to the “Rubin Vase” optical illusion. This was supposed to remind her of the phrase “belief bias effect”.
His character’s ex, to help her study, would make up slang words/phrases to remind her of the definition of the actual word, etc... “...She still town ...”).
Daveed said “FACEVASIN! Try it out... ‘facevasin’...”
The word she chose was “Blindspotting” because the theory is you cannot perceive both the face and the vase at the same time... essentially relating it to BBE by saying you initially see one side and the other is in your blind spot, perhaps even intentionally.
This is a technique used to gaslight without calling someone crazy. They are simply “blindpotting” you... in other words, “facevasin”.
