When a character, typically an OC, has an extreme amount of traumatic or life-changing events in their life that ultimately do not end up affecting the character's attitude or outlook on life and is simply trauma to be trauma for shock value.

"Jenny's OC Markus's backstory is basically just traumaporn. His dog died, his mom died, he got ran over, and he blew up, and he STILL thinks that the world is all sunshine and rainbows as if it never happened!

When a writer glorifies trauma in their writing, exaggerating aspects for the sake of angst.
Usually a writer thinks they are being deep and edgy when in actuality they are just disrespecting and glorifying trauma.

Ana: I just read this angst fanfiction, it had way too much trauma porn though, and it didn't even care to put a warning!

A (white) person who feeds off of the traumatic stories of marginalized/racialized individuals, working them into a digestive system that converts guilt and empathy into an unearned catharsis.
