explanation for the tendency of prayer and other religious attributes to work and show up in a believer's own perception. This effect is caused by the tendency of the human mind to place more importance on proof for one's own beliefs than proof against them, allowing for a
distorted reality in which the subject is correct, even if they are not. It is also possible that the human mind subconsciously distorts a person's perception such that what they believe becomes true.
