The shower

The shower can be in a separate shower cubicle or be connected to the water taps belonging to a bathtub. There are permanently installed showers and hand showers. They are connected to water pipes and are usually equipped with thermostatically controlled mixers for maximum comfort and optimal energy consumption. They are usually adjustable to be adjusted to the showerer's height. In front of the shower cubicle there is often a shower curtain or similar device.

Showering requires less hot water than taking a tub bath, which is why it is often recommended for water and energy saving purposes. The comparison is based on a shower of some or a few minutes and a full normal-sized bathtub; conditions may change if these conditions are modified.

The Shower Curtain Swat

This is a phrase that best describes the act of "No matter how old you get or who's bathroom you're in, if you are sitting on a toilet- and the shower is in arms reach from you...you will swat it just to make sure there is/are no one or no thing lurking behind there." Sometimes even when the curtain is see through.

“It stings in the shower” refers to mental health and thoughts that you may have pushed away become more vivid in the shower, and clearer to remember. It also referrers to the fact that depression can be stronger in the shower, and that self-harm provoking words will “sting”.

Another interpretation is that if you have recently self-harmed (cut yourself) the shower water may sting it. That is also what it could mean.
