When the meaning of information sent by text is not understood by the recipient the way the sender intended for it to be understood; a mix-up between two or more people because of a text message

"My wife and I have had a text misunderstanding because I sent 'I don't have time right now. I'm getting the booty.' She thought I was having sex with someone else when I simply meant I was real busy getting the items we found out of storage."
