All four seasons combined into an extremely short period of time, over the course of days or even hours where the temperature can vary significantly from freezing to balmy hot, from snow to rain to sunshine. Often occurs after one opens the pool, or seeds the lawn or put on seasonal tires. The Murphy’s law of weather in a sense.

It’s mid May along the 41st parallel North...SPring, sUMMer, fALl and winTER just happened. I opened my pool last week, we swam in it this morning but now it’s snowing and the flowers are gonna freeze - damn you Mother Nature for pulling a sprummalter!!!

Spumalter

Is a term used to describe the unpredictable weather conditions of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It implies that the city can experience "All four seasons in one day" at any time of the year. The word encompasses all four seasons into one word ( SPring, sUMmer, fALl, and winTER).

"The Spumalter season runs from early January to late December".

"Better take your toque and sunscreen to work today, feels like another Spumalter day".

"In Calgary, Spumalter requires one to carry an unbrella, and possibly winter gloves, in the months of June and July".
