slut ray 

A fictional plot device used in poorly-written erotica to explain why a character in a sex story that's the Ice Queen one minute is suddenly, unexpectedly an out-of-control nymphomaniac the next. The term "gay ray" for male-on-male stories is analogous.

The expression that some character must have been "hit by a Martian slut ray" is usually pejorative, and infers the sudden transition is somehow an unforgivable hole in the plot for which the author(s) must be slut-shamed at once.

From an actual post on SuperStories.Net: "Eugene took aim and pulled the trigger. A beam of light shot out of the Slut Ray and hit the jogger in the back. She slowed to a stop as a warmth spread from the spot the beam hit her. Her mind became clouded as her body changed. Her sports bra stretched around her expanding breasts. Her ass swelled and stretched her spandex running shorts..."
