Girls who would sit in boats dressed like they were going to a formal dance and beg for US Servicemen to throw coins down to them. This occurred as the servicemen crossed the bridge over the Olongapo River connecting Olongapo City to the Subic Bay Naval Base. The river was nicknamed Shit River due to the overwhelming pollution in it.
