Second Screen

Any device with a screen other than that of a television set.

Origin: The Television was the first, widely adapted technological advancement that allowed users to ignore human interaction by offering visual and audible stimulation. Secondary devices such as computers, handhelds and cellphones have become a means of distraction in this new technological age and are constantly evolving to offer more time wasting and socially hermitting features.
If you don't get off the internet now, I will lock up the power cords and batteries to all the second screens in the house. That means-No Computer, No Ipod, No Cellphone, No gameboy, No portable dvd player, No PSP, No graphing calculator, not even allowed to have your e-reader.

Second Screen Syndrome

When you forget to bypass commercials on your Tivo because your on your second device
Doh! I missed bypassing the commercial. Must be suffering from second screen syndrome.

second screening

The opening of a second screen for distraction and/or entertainment purposes (e.g. emails, Instagram, Facebook) while attending a video meeting on a separate screen via Zoom, FaceTime, etc.
During the Zoom staff meeting, Mollie second screened and caught up on her emails.

Daniel was obviously second screening during the meeting; he was tweeting at the same time.

An armpit enthusiast — typically of the scent, appearance, and touch of hairy underarms.
That dude’s such a pitpig, I have to wear deodorant to keep him at bay.

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.

Huge. Surpassing normal expectations.
I was fishing with a Spinner Bait and a HONKIN pike came after it and hit it . Felt like a lawnmower running over a brick.
