Ringjacker

A possessive douchebag who tries to contain an otherwise freely available girl. He keeps her off the market by gifting her a ring way too early in the relationship. He showers her with affection and makes her promise to be faithful to him because she's the only one and he's different from all the other scum-nuts she's dated before him. Meanwhile the boy who loved her from a distance and was about to ask her out notices the gold band and begins his long journey into drug abuse, alcoholism and casual one nighters with cheap hookers.
