pull pitch

To depart from a situation rapidly and decisively.

Originates from an aviation (especially military) term referring the pitch control on a helicopter, which is pulled to make the aircraft lift off. Recalls the idea of needing to get a helicopter off a pick-up zone with an enemy closing in.
The deaf kid has taken over music for this party. I'm going to pull pitch.
