Pop washed 

1. When an artist who is used to make a certain genre of music changes their still to fit into today's society then you hear it on the radio every 17 minutes

2. When you have that one friend (or yourself...) who doesn't listen to a particular artist and only likes the songs they hear on the radio or popular new songs. You are considered "Pop washed"

Pop washed 

The act of stripping a song of its cultural identity or authenticity to make it more appealing to commercial or mainstream audiences. Usually involves taking hip-hop, R&B, or dancehall songs and repackaging them to appeal to a "pop" demographic. Commonly associated with sampling and whitewashing.

"They really pop washed that song - took out the rap verse, added a pop hook, and now it’s all over the radio."

"Did you hear 'Breathe' by Blu Cantrell? They totally pop washed 'What's The Difference'."
