Derived from the more specific word, ethernet, to a more general meaning for the intangible that is the internet or non-handwritten, non-oral communication.

being somewhere, just not here....
(being here nor there...)

ex1: in the middle of a conversation with someone annoying...."really? i dont care where you go...just leave me and go NETHERWHERE..."

ex2: "why dont you go find yourself lost in the regions of NETHERWHERE...hmmm?"
