lekompo/ Legombo

A word used to describe farm workers that lived in farm compounds, the word originated from the Mopani region at farms like ZZ2, westfalia, ntarantara and all the farms in Tzaneen.

The farm workers were known for thier undesirable behaviour and methods of living as they lived together in these compounds they would always party when paid and sing songs with swear words in khelobedu, what we know today is lekombo music.

The word legombo was later users to describe unruly people or people from the rural areas.

In 2019 the word was then used in township of Polokwane to describe a subculture of unruly people that like to swear, fight, steal and wear Nike is thier uniform.

Farm compound for workers" refers to a dedicated residential area on a farm where farm laborers are housed, typically providing basic living accommodations and sometimes including shared facilities like kitchens, bathrooms, and communal spaces, often used in a system where workers live on the farm property due to their employment there.

Stealthie

when you're holding up your phone and making faces at it, as though you are taking a selfie, but you're really taking a picture of the person across from you or the wall or anything else that seems interesting but you don't want to be caught dead taking a picture of.

This action is often made more convincing by wiggling the eyebrows or opening the mouth, to pretend you're trying to get a Snapchat filter to work.
FRIEND A: "Did you just take a stealthie of me?"

FRIEND B (turning phone around): "no I was just using snapchat's new filter, see?"
