Putting someone on the telephone on hold, with no intention of getting back to them!

Some guy just called to buy the car that is advertised below dealer cost, so I put him on eternalhold! LOL

eternal hold

A term used to describe waiting on hold on the telephone for an exceptionally long time, such as when calling the customer service hotlines of airlines, utilities, and other service companies.

I'm only trying to pick my seats for my flights, but I'm still on eternal hold with US Airways.
