n. A combination of the words "embarrassment" and "empathy", it is the uncomfortable sensation associated with imagining, understanding, and feeling another person's embarrassment. It was coined by Juanpablo Contreras of San Luis, Sonora in the 1990s.
It is almost impossible for me to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm or The Office because it triggers my embathy.
