Elevision

The act of people in an elevator staring up, uncomfortably, at the numbers as they light up when the car moves. Practiced out of nervousness.
When the elevator began moving, silence ensued as each person practiced their elevision.

An elevidiot = and elevator idiot. One who tries to step into an elevator, as the door opens, before any of the passengers who are already inside have the chance to step out.
As our elevator reached our destination, the door began to open. As I was about to exit another person tried to step inside the elevator (before I could get out) almost bumping into me, causing a moment of confusion/akwardness. As I left, crossing in front of him, under my breath I sighed "you elevidiot".

Elevision

The small video monitors that are now often featured in the elevators of big, newer business buildings. They show headlines, weather, sports scores, trivia, etc. They are also impossible to take your eyes off of, no matter how many times you've already seen what they're showing.
Now people have an excuse not to look at each other in elevators. They just keep their eyes on the elevisions.

elevasion

Chiefly northeastern American act of entering an elevator by moving to the nearest corner, out of sight of other would-be entrants, to avoid feeling compelled to hold the door open for them.

Serial Monogamist

Someone who jumps from one relationship immediately into another one.

Serial monogamists can not stand to be alone and often suffer from vast commitment and insecurity issues.

Because they jump into relationships immediately after the previous one has ended, serial monogamists typically don't take the time to reflect on their behavior or why their previous relationships failed; thus, they end up making the same relationship mistakes over and over again.
Person 1: Damn, Dustin already has a new girlfriend?! It's only been two weeks since he broke up with his fiance! I think he's a sociopath.

Person 2: No, he's a serial monogamist...
