doomgrowing

The process of repeating multiple conspiracy theories, untruths, misinformation, and outright lies on a specific topic in short succession in order to "grow" a sense of fear and uncertainty in an unwitting target about the specific topic. Often used to promote a larger narrative to guide an unwitting target's opinion in a direction that would benefit the doomgrower.
Jack: "Have you read that article by the Sensationalist Group about the "Top Risks" predictions for 2024 in which they presuppose various mundane and routine aspects of everyday life will create a year of grave concern?"

Jane: "No, I don't read stuff written by doomsayers, and I am certainly not going to go through an entire article that is doing nothing but doomgrowing."
