dictatocracy

A form of government that isn't completely a dictatorship, and isn't completely a democracy. It is a strange combination of the two.

The nation of Ted has been using an efficient form of dictatocracy for a long time.

dictocracy

Used to describe a country in which there is effectively a dictatorship because of a long serving non-elected president or family line, but whose society most resembles a capitalist democracy. This is not necessarily a bad thing. Countries with this style include: Singapore, Tunisia.

"So much of the business here is owned by the same holding companies. Well, that is what happens when you live in a dictocracy."
