punk elements. A corehead would typically wear a hat, have ear gauges and have a superfluous amount of tattoos. The metal community has a love and
hate relationship towards these individuals. Coreheads have been ostracized due to the stigma perpetuated by the metal community. Some live a straight edge lifestyle while others love to participate in a recreational leisure. While keeping a balance of metal and hardcore (this excludes post-hardcore and hardcore), breakdowns, blast

The word corehead has the same suffix as
metalhead and was influenced by that word. The word was coined from the result of the ostracization within the metal community.
